OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2011. Steel pipe and railway wheel company Interpipe has finished the first stage of recruitment for its Continuous Improvement System (ICIS). The recruitment drive aimed to find talented managers for production optimization that will also be responsible for the implementation of ICIS at Interpipe’s production sites.

Frank Rittner, Director of Strategy and Business Development at Interpipe, explains: 'The implementation of ICIS at all Interpipe production sites is a key instrument to increasing business efficiency. That’s why we pay particular attention to the selection and recruitment of ICIS specialists. They will be the main change agents at the Company’s production sites and will implement the best practices at workshops and contribute to the reduction of costs during production.’

After detailed analysis of resumes and application forms, 45 candidates from different cities in Ukraine were invited to participate in the first selection stage. Among selected candidates were experienced workers as well as graduates from the leading metallurgical universities. Senior managers at Interpipe introduced the Company to participants, presented the Company’s business activities and the key tasks of ICIS.

All candidates were asked to take a test consisting of four blocks – mathematics, logistics, IQ and an application task on power calculation. The candidates that scored highest on the test were invited to participate in the group practice. Oksana Marina, Director for Human Resources at Interpipe said: ‘Group practices help to determine the personal characteristics of candidates and the roles played by each group participant - whether he/she is a leader or a performer, thus, allowing us to  make the most complete assessment of  the candidate. The final stage consisted of interviews between the best participants and the Company’s management. All participants showed a high level of knowledge and competence.’

The next stage of recruitment for ICIS specialists will start on 26 March 2011. For more information please visit the Interpipe website.
