OREANDA-NEWS. March 24, 2011. Ukrenergo (Kiev) has sold access to the cross-border electricity transmission lines to export up to 860 MW of electricity in April to DTEK’s companies Vostokenergo and Power Trade (both operating in Donetsk) for UAH10.5 thou.
 
The access to the transmission capacities was sold based on auction results.
 
A total of 9 lots for electricity exports through 4 cross-border capacities were sold at starting prices in the auction.
 
Vostokenergo bought four lots for capacities from the ‘Energy Island of Burshtyn TPP’ to the grids of Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania for UAH 7 thou, which allows the company to export up to 245 MW of electricity in this direction.
 
Besides, the company purchased an access to Ukraine-Belarus electricity transmission lines to export up to 150 MW for UAH0.5 thou as well as an access to the transmission capacities from Dobrotvorskaya TPP to Zamost (Poland) for UAH 1 thou, which enables the company to export up to 215 MW to Poland.
 
Power Trade bought an access to Ukraine-Moldavia transmission lines at a starting price of UAH 2 thou to export up to 250 MW of electricity to the country. 
 
Reportedly, earlier Ukrenergo declared the January and March monthly auctions failed, as no bids had been submitted.
 
Vostokenergo and Power Trade are companies of DTEK Group managing the energy assets of  System Capital Management (Donetsk) belonging to Rinat Akhmetov.
