OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2011. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov praised the work of the appointment of Ukrainian citizen’s subsidies for housing and communal services. The Head of Government said, opening the session in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

"In general, work on subsidies is satisfactory. Simplified system of the state aid in this area is, as we set out, almost automatically, with minimal inconvenience to the people", - Mykola Azarov said.

According to him, in connection with the adjustment of prices and tariffs for housing services through the Program of housing subsidies the Government carries the disabled persons and pensioners spending that are more than 10% of their household income. Other families offset the costs of utilities that exceed 15% of their income. Other families will de offset the costs of housing services that exceed 15% of their income.

Mykola Azarov noted that the new simplified rules on subsidies and substantially lowering the threshold for their use have made it possible for many people who need government help to pay for housing, apply for its purpose: "And to address the most convenient way for them: not to attend the labor and social protection, and just send a statement”.

According to data from departments of labor and social protection for the subsidy in August - December 2010 has requested nearly 2 million families.

In December 2010 subsidies received about 8% of 17 million households in Ukraine, which is 60% higher than at the end of 2009. The average size of subsidies for housing and communal services in December 2010 amounted to 163 UAH.

And in January 2011 for subsidies to pay for housing and communal services have turned around 157 thousand families, which is almost in twice more than in January 2010. Almost all of them intended subsidies. The average size of subsidies intended to reimburse costs for of housing and communal services on one family in January 2011 was already 172 UAH.

"Today we are ready to assist all citizens who turn to it - appropriate funds are provided in the State budget. Moreover, I stress, that the compensation of expenses of vulnerable families is done are against the raising of real incomes. Thus, the number of pensions amounting to 800 UAH in the country is dropped by a half, while the number of pensions, which amount reaches 1000 UAH is increased in about 3 times. Real average wages increased by 10.2%.” - Mykola Azarov emphasized.
