OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2011. Moscow Domodedovo Airport and Italian airline Wind Jet celebrate the fifth anniversary of their cooperation.

On the occasion on March 22 check in area of the airline in Domodedovo airport will be decorated with a balloon arc of Wind Jet corporate colors while passengers of the airline’s flights will be given presents.

Wind Jet connects Moscow with six cities in Italy. The first destination where the airline began to operate flights to became Forli - the capital of the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. The most productive collaboration year was 2007 when Wind Jet launched flights to Verona, Catania and Torino. In 2010 Wind Jet expanded its route network from Moscow Domodedovo Airport adding two attractive for both tourists and businessmen destinations – Pisa and Milan.

Thus, passenger traffic of Wind Jet and Moscow Domodedovo Airport increased by 14% last year to more than 50 000 passengers. The years of cooperation between airline Wind Jet and Domodedovo airport saw more than 195,000 passengers served.

Wind Jet based in Catania Fontanarossa Airport was established in 2003 to operate both scheduled and charter flights.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest airport of Russia providing 44% market share in total passenger traffic in Moscow Aviation Hub. In 2010 22,3 million passengers benefited from Domodedovo services. More than 70 air carries are partnering with the airport while both Russian and foreign airlines are among them. Domodedovo Airport has been chosen for operations to Moscow by member airlines of three world aviation alliances: Star Alliance, oneworld and SkyTeam.
