OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2011. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received David Cote, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Honeywell International Inc.

Greeting warmly the leader of the Turkmen state, Mr. David Cote expressed his gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting noting that he was very glad to visit again dynamically developing Turkmenistan. The guest emphasized that the Honeywell management was keenly interested in the ongoing progressive social and economic reforms in Turkmenistan and expressed the utmost willingness to establish mutually advantageous cooperation.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that pursuing consistently the strategy for fundamental modernization of the national economy Turkmenistan paid particular attention to adoption of innovative technologies and scientific and technological advances. In this regard, the Turkmen leader noted with satisfaction that a number of the leading U.S. companies with the tremendous scientific and industrial potential had earned the reputation of being dependable partners of our country collaborating actively in the large-scale national projects for many years.

An exchange of views on the aspects of collaboration between Turkmenistan and Honeywell in the basic sectors of Turkmen economy took place during the meeting. In particular, the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, personnel training and the other priority areas of national development were discussed. Mr. David Cote reaffirmed that the Honeywell Company was greatly interested in business partnership with Turkmenistan, which had put forward a number of the initiatives to effectively implement its tremendous energy potential in global interests. The guest said that the Honeywell Company stood ready to offer its profound expertise and w aide range of services to Turkmenistan.

Showing interest in the proposals put forward by the top manager of the world-renowned company, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that they would be considered thoroughly.
