OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2011. Net foreign assets of the Belarusian government and National Bank of Belarus (NBB) amounted to USD 3.031 billion as of March 1, 2011, down 14.7% in January-February, the National Bank of Belarus stated.

The increase was due to a decrease in gross foreign assets by 12.2% in January-February to USD 4.768 billion and a 7.6% reduction in liabilities to USD 1.737 billion as of March 1, 2011.

Net foreign assets placed in hard currency amounted to USD 2.938 billion as of March 1, 2011, while soft currency assets were at the equivalent of USD 92.6 million.

In 2010, Belarus’ net foreign assets decreased 27.6% to USD 3.551 billion.
