OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2011. Belarus plans to supply 3.8 million tonnes of dairy products and over 220,000 tonnes of meat, 220,000 tonnes of sugar and 220,000 tonnes of potatoes to Russia in 2011, Agriculture Minister Mikhail Rusy told.

“We have for the first time agreed balances rather than quotas in the scope of the Union State. On December 22, we signed them at a joint board session of the Agriculture Ministries of Belarus and Russia, and two days ago, the Union Council of Ministers adopted them.”

“We agreed a minimum balance, and we will have to decide how we will be selling excess volumes to third countries,” Rusy said.
