OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2011. Media Mir LLC, part of the RBC group of companies, hereby announces the release of a new version of the QIP messenger integrated with the services of international social network Facebook.

By virtue of the integration, users of the new QIP messenger can now use the most popular communication services offered by Facebook: gain access to the newsline, videos, comments to posts, and chat.

Given the strong popularity of IP telephony, the new QIP version provides its users with a service of voice calls to the telephone numbers indicated in Facebook profiles. In this way, a user may contact a person who is offline directly from the messenger’s interface. Moreover, users who have installed a new version of QIP can make free voice and video calls to each other’s computers by pushing the respective button in the newsline or contact list and choosing the preferred communications type.

Cooperation between QIP and leading social network Facebook will allow the messenger to significantly expand its client base.

“People today are used to communicating through text, audios and videos, as well as making active use of social networks. Our goal is to offer the users a universal means of communication without locking them into a single account. This confirms the status of QIP as a universal communications platform,” Media Mir’s General Director Mikhail Gurevich said.
