OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2011. Investment Program2011 of the branch of JSC "IDGC North-West”  “Karelenergo” is amounted to 400 million rubles. The largest part will be directed to reconstruction and modernization of distribution networks.

Another direction of investments is the modernization of production.

Also in “Karelenergo” were designed prospective investment plans for the medium term (until 2016). Sources of funding are determined with taking into account the switching of "Karelenergo" to the RAB-based tariff regulation from January 1, 2012.

Long-term investment program is aimed at solving of many problems. The most important targets are:

- Increasing of the capacity of existing substations
- Improving the reliability of the transits of 110 kV (total length 27.5 km);
- Reconstruction of lines 110 kV, with a high percentage of defective poles.

Priorities of the long-term investment program (until 2030)  are : increasing the reliability of the distributing grid complex, according to a balance between the reconstruction of existing infrastructure and building of  new facilities, as well as increase energy efficiency. This direction is defined by the President of the Russian Federation as a major in the innovative development of the country.
