OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2011. The electronic trading mechanism implemented in TATNEFT has become an operational tool that ensures the efficiency of procurement procedures and tenders and allows expanding the range of suppliers. To date, there are 3037 suppliers registered in the electronic trading system of the Company. The auctions arranged during the first quarter of 2011 totaled the amount of 1,154,800,000 rubles, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

The E-procurement platform of TATNEFT is used by all service companies and the Company's subsidiaries, as well as by a number of independent oil companies.

The E-procurement platform of TATNEFT has passed through two stages of development since the introduction of an electronic trading platform in 2010 and in the process of operation: from the auctions to creating an analytical database enabling to obtain information on the various trends. All competitive purchases of inventories of TATNEFT's Logistics Department (UMTO) are fully carried out through the electronic trading platform of the Company. Its implementation in conjunction with the existing SAP R/3 based online shop system allows users to see the full picture of procurement.

The electronic trading platform has significantly speeded up the bidding, ensuring transparency of prices, and all tenders are conducted online. Accredited suppliers of TATNEFT having approved themselves as reliable partners are included into a special register. However, the quality-price ratio still remains a priority when choosing a vendor and determining a winner.

The future plans provide for using the information technology resources not only to ensure supplies, but also for procurement planning.
