OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2011. UVK has developed the largest net of warehousing and cross-docking facilities across the country. Actually, it is one of the basics, due to which the company was selected ‘#1 Regional LSP’ in the Logistics Award Ukraine ranking last year. UVK’s revenue from warehousing services (incl. storage and handling) amounts for 90% of the company’s gross turnover

Therefore, warehousing performance is a key bloc within the company’s management account system, to monitor and analyze weekly through each of a service / operation, due to the corporate standards. Yuriy Avdysh, UVK’s CCO, listed such indicators and accompanied them with his comments in his recent interview for ‘Logistics: Implications and Solutions’ magazine.

‘We clearly split the warehousing KPI’s into these 2 groups: in-house business processes and performance per each Customer’, said Yuriy Avdysh. He associated these KPI’s with business processes’ group:

Occupancy – incl. assessment of actually occupant cells, active storage cells, reserve space, picking area

Productivity – performance of warehouse’s staff Profit rate – the rate of profit per each

Customer incl. costs’ distribution into direct costs, indirect costs, rent and operations expenses

Account – analysis of countable data on all brands in storage

Brand-Manager’s Performance – accuracy of Customers’ orders processed by administrative personnel, velocity

IT integratibility – IT system’s operation

Warehouse-based solutions, provided for Customers, are evaluated based on these KPI’s:

% of errors Velocity of order processing

Operational complexity FIFO/FEFO compliance

Inventory stock count results

Accuracy in balance verification

Besides, UVK regularly undertakes the Customer satisfaction survey. ‘The questionnaire, besides quantitative data, enables us to understand a current level of each Customer’s satisfaction with our communications, procedures and interaction. The latest survey’s results demonstrate that we’re going the right way’, Yuriy Avdysh resumed.
