OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2011. Russian Association of Sea Commercial Ports, the membership of which is more than 50 sea transport companies, has been the initiator of the Best Stevedore Company award for several years. The Best Stevedore Company award is designed to honor the most effective and advanced national stevedore company, based upon the following criteria:

  1. no claims lodged by cargo owners;
  2. net profit and ROA;
  3. capital investment;
  4. cargo volume growth.

This prestigious award is an excellent choice to recognize stevedore company's outstanding achievements.


This year Best Stevedore Company award has attracted entries from more than 10 Russian ports. Commercial Port of Vladivostok has been recognized as award winner in nomination Best Stevedore Company. According to Award Steering Committee members, the port has striven to continue efforts to improve its performance in recent years. The port finished 2010 with a total of 6.9 mln. tonnes, up 11.4% from 2009 volumes. Net profit increased more than threefold compared with 2009. Commercial Port of Vladivostok is once again acknowledged to be the leader in port industry and in national stevedoring business.
