OREANDA-NEWS. April 6, 2011. At 02:18 Moscow time, April 5, Russian crew vehicle Soyuz TMA-21 was launched by Soyuz-FG rocket from Baikonur.

The vehicle will carry three crew –Alexander Samokutiaev (Roscosmos), Andrey Borisenko (Roscosmos), Ronald Garan (NASA) to the International Space Station.
The launch commemorated the 50th anniversary of the first human space mission by Yury Gagarin. Soyuz TMA-21 bears the name of the first cosmonaut.

Soyuz TMA-21 is due to dock to Russian module Rassvet on April 7.
