OREANDA-NEWS. April 7, 2011. Renaissance Capital, the leading emerging markets investment bank, is pleased to announce the appointment of Igor Bilous as Head of Investment Banking and Finance (IBF), Ukraine and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE); as well as the Firm’s Co-CEO in the region.

 Mr. Bilous will be based in Kiev and will, effective 18 April, assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of Renaissance Capital’s investment banking and finance franchise in Ukraine and CEE. He will have joint oversight over Renaissance’s operations in the region, along with Roman Nasirov, Head of the Firm’s Equity and Debt Products Group and Co-CEO in Ukraine and CEE.

 Mr. Bilous joins Renaissance Capital from UBS Investment Bank, where he was in charge of UBS’s Ukrainian business. He has worked on many landmark Ukrainian transactions, including Mittal Steel’s acquisition of a 93.02% stake in Kryvorizhstal; the sale of a 51% stake in UkrSibbank to BNP Paribas; the sale of a 60% stake in Bank Forum to Commerzbank; and the IPO of MHP, as well as multiple corporate Eurobond issues out of Ukraine.

 Prior to joining UBS in 2005, Mr. Bilous worked at SARS Capital, a Kiev-based M&A boutique specialising in cross-border M&A transactions. He graduated from the Kiev National University of Economics with an MA in International Economics, and holds a BA in International Finance and Accounting from the University of Northumbria in Newcastle, United Kingdom.
