OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2011. The designs of engineers of the Intinskaya Combined Heat and Power Plant and the Syktyvkar Heat Network (a part of the IES Generation Urals division) were recognized the best rationalization proposals in the Holding Company in 2010.

Mr Gazretali Orudzhov, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Intinskaya CHPP, and Mr Boris Melekhin, Lead Engineer (Team Manager) of the Setup and Diagnostics Service of the Syktyvkar Heat Network, are among the winners of the IES Innovation Club First Corporate Contest of Rationalization Projects.

Mr Orudzhov is the winner in the nomination Best Rationalization Suggestion with an Economic Effect up to 3 million rubles. His project for installation of plate heat exchangers to cool down the full-flow condensate is intended to enhance the reliability and stability of the heat system at combined heat and power stations in conditions of extremely low ambient air temperatures.

Mr Boris Melekhin (also the winner of all-Russian contest Engineer of the Year 2009) is the author of the best rationalization idea with an economic effect up to 300,000 rubles regarding the stabilization of the hydraulic operating mode of heat supply systems.

The IES Innovation Club first corporate contest of rationalization and innovation projects was launched in April 2010 in all sixteen Russian regions where IES Integrated Energy Systems is currently operating. The contest was open to all employees of the company. The best innovative ideas were first selected within branches, and then - at the level of the Holding Company's divisions. Over 250 applications were submitted to the contest. Forty-two participants became winners at the level of divisions. Their authors have become members of the IES Innovation Club, an association for employees of any enterprises of the Holding Company interested and involved with innovations and rationalization. At the final stage, the central expert committee selected the most interesting, original and promising ideas.

According to Mr Orudzhov, the establishment of the Innovation Club has promoted closer communication and exchange of ideas among innovators of the IES Holding as well as acquisition of new professional knowledge.

All winners received prizes and most importantly, an opportunity to implement their ideas in production. Each of them will be given a chance to make a personal contribution to increase the efficiency of power generation.
