OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2011. Recently, Baosteel Group Chairman Xu Lejiang launched the opening of Baosteel (Changshu) Leadership Development Center, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

Leadership of Baosteel Group Corporation, Baosteel Co.,Ltd.(above the level of assistant general manager), Baosteel Planning Board, Stainless Steel Business Unit, Special Steel Business Unit, Steel Pipe Business Unit, Meishan Steel, Research Institute, Guangdong Steel, Bayi Steel and Ningbo Steel, chefs of Group Corporation headquarters, chief representatives of overseas quarters, Group Corporation full-time supervisors, and Baosteel Golden Apple core team members (more than 120 people) attended the opening ceremony.

Baosteel (Changshu) Leadership Development Center is located in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, on the south bank of Shang Lake. It is also known as "Baosteel Shang Lake Village". The Center is 110 kilometers away from Shanghai, covers an area of 347 (Chinese) acres and has 37,000 square meters of building area. It includs landmarks such as Shang-Jin pavilion, Shang Lake garden and Tongxin garden. The center has advanced training and conference facilities, comfortable accommodation and good leisure environment.

The construction of Baosteel (Changshu) Leadership Development Center started in December 2009. Faced with global financial crisis,  Baosteel made a major decision in  enhancing the talent development soft power. Baosteel (Changshu) Leadership Development Center will be built as the base of Baosteel leadership training, Baosteel intellectual development valley, strategic and innovative platform and the window to display Baosteel brand image. With the strong support from the local government, the construction of the building was completed according to the plan after a year.

After the opening ceremony, Baosteel Group chairman Xu Lejiang, vice chairman and Party secretary Liu Guosheng, general manager He Wenbo, and the participating leaders and experts planted 13 memorial trees, including plum, pine, cherry, Buddhist pine and laurel in the Center.
