OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2011. Fujitsu has appointed Rod Vawdrey as Corporate Senior Vice President and President of the Global Business Group of Fujitsu Limited as of April 11, 2011. With more than 25 years of experience in the ICT industry, Mr. Vawdrey will bring his leadership skills, as well as his global and domestic expertise in understanding and managing business services, to further expand Fujitsu's global business operations.

As Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, Rod Vawdrey has led the company into becoming the third largest in the Australia/New Zealand ICT market. Mr. Vawdrey has overseen the merger of DMR Consulting, and the acquisition of Atos Origin's Australian operations, Infinity Solutions in New Zealand, and KAZ Group and Supply Chain Consulting. Under his leadership, Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand has grown into a company of almost 5,000 individuals working in areas such as government, health, education, retail, financial services, telecommunications, utilities, and manufacturing.

Rod Vawdrey also serves on the Board of Directors of the Australia Information Industry Association (AIIA). Prior to joining Fujitsu in 2003, Mr. Vawdrey acted as the Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Retail Division at NCR Corporation, managing several thousand staff across the Americas, EMEA, Japan, and the Asia Pacific.

Rod Vawdrey will be replacing Richard Christou who has now assumed the role of Corporate Executive Adviser, Global Affairs.
