OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2011. Belarus will make the final decision on the construction of a new sugar refinery with investment requirement of over 364.1 million euros and capacity of 12,000 tonnes of sugar beet per day, in accordance with resolution of the Council of Ministers #359, which adopted the state program for the development of the sugar industry for 2011-2015.

The new refinery is expected to be built using investor’s funds.

In 2015, the new refinery is expected to produce up to 90,000 tonnes of sugar.

There are four sugar refineries in Belarus – based in Gorodeya, Zhabinka, Skidel and Slootsk.
