OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2011. Belarus will invest 896.96 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) in the sugar industry in 2011-2015, in accordance with the state program for the development of the sugar industry for that period adopted by resolution of the Council of Ministers #359 dated March 24, 2011

Bank loans are to reach 787.06 billion rubles, and refineries’ own fund are projected at 109.9 billion rubles.

The refineries will have state support in the form of partial repayment of interests on investment loans and repayment of interests on other loans amounting to half of the refinancing rate.

Sugar beet yield is projected at 52.4 tonnes per hectare in 2015, and areas under sugar beet are to increase 10.9% to 105,000 hectares.

Belarusian refineries are expected to process 4.71 million tonnes of sugar beet in 2015 of the 5.5 million-tonne harvest, which means additional capacities must be created to refine the remaining 790,000 tonnes of beet.

Beet sugar export potential is projected to reach 370,000 tonnes in 2015.
