OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2011. Ingosstrakh OJSIC has paid an insurance indemnity in the amount of 4.85 mln. rubles to one of the largest Russian banks in connection with an ATM break-in and theft of cash from it.

From the documents it becomes clear that provided by the insured, on the night before 24.02.2011, some persons penetrated the premises of one of the shops in Saint Petersburg and used violence to tie the guard. Then the criminals used the autogenous welder to open the ATM vault, stole the money from it and left the site of crime. The law enforcement agencies instituted criminal proceedings under Article 161 of RF Criminal Code (theft).

After establishing all the circumstances of the case and obtaining the set of the necessary documents, Ingosstrakh OJSIC acknowledged the event to be an insurance case. Technical expert examination showed that the ATM is beyond repair. The insurance recovery was paid in accordance with the policy conditions, both for the funds stolen and for the damaged ATM.

The damaged ATM was insured by Ingosstrakh OJSIC under the insurance program for ATMs and funds in them. The insurance coverage envisages reimbursement of losses, including as a result of improper activity of third persons, burglary, theft, and robbery.
