OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2011. OGX took a further step necessary for initial production in the Campos Basin. The ten anchor piles that compose the mooring system that will fix the first floating production storage and offloading unit, FPSO OSX-1, on the seabed, have just arrived in Brazil.

The anchor piles were produced in China and weigh 107 tons each, measuring 33,6 meters long, with a 2,3 meters of diameter.

In addition to them, the chains that are part of the mooring system arrived in Brazil in January. A previous installation of this system in Rio de Janeiro will allow rapid connection of the unit, shortening the time between the arrival of OSX-1 in Brazil and the beginning of its operation, scheduled for the second half of the year.

FPSO OSX-1 is in final stage of customization in Singapore and will be chartered to OGX, for a period of 20 years, and will operate in the Campos Basin (RJ).
