OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2011. In 2010, the aggregate insurance premium collected by ROSNO’s North-Western Directorate amounted to 1,447 mln roubles, thus overriding the same-period-last-year figure by 14%. Insurance compensations remained on the last year’s level, equaling 847 million roubles, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

As compared to the overall premium growth in the insurance market of the North-Western Federal Okrug, which, according to FSSN, amounted to 4% in 2010, the growth of ROSNO’s North-Western business is outpacing the general market by 3.5 times. The major share of premium collected by the North-Western Directorate pertained to the St. Petersburg branch (86.68%).

Impressive insurance premium growth was demonstrated by the following insurance lines: construction and assembly risk insurance (+250.0%), maritime transport insurance (+201.55 %), accident and sickness insurance (+73.06%), insurance under the international Green Card system (+54.99%), travellers insurance (+34.68%), cargo insurance (+30%), and voluntary medical insurance (+16%).

The positive growth observed in many business lines resulted from the initiatives pursued by the Directorate in 2010. As regards the HR policy, IC ROSNO has significantly strengthened its professional team — last year, over 250 employees were hired, including sales managers and back- and middle office employees. In the context of the sales policy, the company’s agent network was being actively expanded — the Allianz Eurasia Agency School was opened to train universal financial consultants; 5 agencies were relocated in order to be more accessible for their clients. The Directorate launched 7 new key projects. As regards motor insurance, the company implemented federal programs jointly with car dealers and intensified cooperation with leasing companies. In terms of bankassurance, the company began actively promoting insurance products among the clients of the leading banks of St. Petersburg. A project was launched to increase ROSNO’s share in the Green Card market. Today, 22 sales offices operate in 6 cities of the North-Western region, selling ROSNO‘s Green Card policies.

Mr. Evgeny Dubensky, Deputy CEO of ROSNO and head of the company’s North-Western Directorate, commented on the performance results of the year 2010 and the Directorate’s development prospects as follows: "Last year, we managed to considerably improve our performance, both in quantitative and qualitative terms. The Directorate’s new projects served as a cornerstone of our efforts aimed to increase the number of effective business partners and loyal clients in 2011. Apart from concentration on the product lines traditionally strongly served by the Directorate, in 2011, we will focus on further expansion of our agent network, growing ROSNO’s presence in the North-Western region and increasing sales in the field of personal insurance, personal property insurance, and motor insurance".
