OREANDA-NEWS. April 18, 2011. The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Gomselmash and the Russian company Agroprompark (Ulyanovsk Oblast) have set up a joint venture to manufacture grain harvesters, Director of Gomselmash’s Marketing Center Vladimir Frolov said.

In line with the agreement the sides have signed in 2011 Ulyanovsk Oblast will assemble 50 self-propelled grain harvesters KZS-1218 Palesse GS12 that will be used for this year’s harvesting campaign.

According to the source, the first batch will be assembled using the Belarusian technology mainly out of Gomselmash’s assembly sets. Initially Belarusian specialists will help train the personnel and prepare the enterprise. In the future the Russian side plans to increase the degree of localization. The harvesters to be made in Russia will be entitled to subsidies as large as 50%.

At present Gomselmash self-propelled harvesters are assembled at two joint ventures (Russia, China). More than 15 joint manufacturing enterprises (Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine) have been created as well.

Founded in 1978, the manufacturing corporation Gomselmash stems from the Gomselmash plant, which was established in 1930. The company is one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural vehicles in the CIS and Europe. Gomselmash offers self-propelled and towed harvesters, mowing crushers, grain harvesters, mounted mower-shredders, potato and beet harvesters.
