OREANDA-NEWS. April 19, 2011. From 17th of April 2011 citizens of Turkey and Russia will be able to cross the territory of Russian Federation and Turkish Republic without visas if they meet certain requirements.

A treaty between the government of theRussian Federation and the government of the Turkish Republic about the conditions of mutual trips of citizens of the Russian Federation and the Turkish Republic which was signed on the 12th of May 2010 in Ankara comes into force on the 16th of April.

According to this treaty citizens of the Russian Federation and the Turkish Republic who are holders of valid civil, service (special) passports may enter, leave, go on transit and stay on the territory of another country without visa during 30 days after entry. In this case the total stay on the territory of another country should not be more than 90 days during each 180 days.

The citizens of one country who enter the country to work or to study in any educational institutions or with any other purposes and need to stay on the territory of another country more than 30 days should have visas which are given in accordance with the legislation of the country of entry together with other valid documents.

Please be reminded that in any case Russian traveler must have a return ticket, confirmed hotel reservation and available amount of money for the whole period of stay in Turkey.
