OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2011. A working meeting with a delegation of the Republic of Hungary to consider issues of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of tourism was held in the State Committee of the Republic of Karelia for Youth, Physical Training, Sports and Tourism.

Szergej Szucs, Consul General of the Republic of Hungary, Gabor Nadj, Consul for Trade and Economic Issues, Szilard Kiss, Director General of Hungarian Wine JSC, Alexander Voronov, Chairman of the State Committee of the RK for Youth, Physical Training, Sports and Tourism, Vladimir Gromov, Head of the Department for Tourism Development of the State Committee of the RK for Youth, Physical Training, Sports and Tourism, A.Tsvetkov, chief officer of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Karelia, have taken part in the meeting.

Matters at the meeting concerned development of international tourist exchang between the Republic of Karelia and the Republic of Hungary, organization of cooperation berween Karelian and Hungarian tour operators, travel agents, information tourist centers, coordination of publicity issues for promotion of tourist offers of the parties in international markets of tourist services, support of development of specialized tourism (educational, ethnocultural, health, wine and gastronomy, rural, event, nature, youth, sports tourims), mobilization of investments into development of tourism infrastructure.

Representatives of the delegation of the Republic of Hungary have emphasized high potential of the Republic of Karelia in the sphere of tourism, its popularity in the world markets as a popular tourist destination and have expressed interest in development of cooperation in the considered sphere. Representatives of the Republic of Hungary were particularly presented opportunities of investment into development of the tourist industry of the Republic of Karelia.

On results of the meeting the parties have agreed on development of fruitful long-term cooperation in the sphere of tourism and preparation of a corresponding agreement.
