OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2011. LUKOIL Mid-East Ltd. (JSC  LUKOIL’s operating company) started recruitment of local staff to work at the West Qurna-2 field in the Medina district, Basra province, southern Iraq.

By now, the first selection stage has been completed, in which residents of Medina with higher and secondary vocational education took part. The selection covered blue-collar jobs and engineering positions. The competition comprised two basis stages – a test for professional competency, including  English language skills, and an interview.

Based on the competitions results 34 persons were selected from almost 300 candidates; another 46 persons will be interviewed in the nearest future.

The next selection stage will take place at the beginning of May, 2011. The selected applicants will attend a 15 month-long professional training, including a 6 month-long English language course. The attendees will receive a scholarship. Those participants of the program, who will successfully complete the training program, will be employed by the operating company. The company intends to offer 500 jobs to Iraqi specialists within the next year and a half, of which 350 specialists will be hired this year.
