OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2011. Iron ore enrichment companies of Metinvest, an international vertically integrated mining and steel group of companies, have shipped more than 3 Mtonnes of iron ore raw materials in March having reached therefore the highest level of monthly shipments since 1991. The main supply destinations are Ukraine, Central and Eastern Europe, and China.

The total volume of raw materials shipped by the three iron ore enrichment works (GOKs) that are part of Metinvest Group – Northern, Central, and Ingulets GOKs – has amounted to 3,079.4 Ktonnes in March. This is the highest level since January, 1991, when 3,043.5 Ktonnes were dispatched to customers. The main consumers of iron ore raw materials in Ukraine are steelmaking enterprises of Metinvest Group.

The record shipment is a result of the well coordinated work of GOKs, the logistics service of Metinvest’s Iron Ore Division and the “Ukrainian railways” national carrier that ensured the required speed of shipment.
