OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2011. Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, received Igor Makarov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ITERA International Group of Companies, in the vigil of the Day of Racer. Issues related to the state of the current and future cooperation in Fuel and Energy Complex, implementation by the Company of socially and economically oriented projects in the Republic were discussed.

Igor Makarov presented Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov with symbolic keys to the two hippodromes in the Balkan and Lebap velayats (provinces). Horse complexes that meet the highest world standards have been constructed by ITERA-Invest-Stroi (ITERA-Investment-Construction) of ITERA International Group of Companies, at the order by Turkmen Atlary State Concern.

An ITERA delegation headed by Igor Makarov, participated in the Day of Racer events and the hippodromes’ opening ceremonies. When responding questions from journalists, he attributed ITERA’s success in implementing fuel and energy projects, construction and other branched of economy in Turkmenistan to mutually beneficial cooperation and the support President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov had provided to the Company. Igor Makarov expressed his hope that the new hippodrome complexes constructed by ITERA would contribute to development of the mass horse racing in the Republic.

Modern technologies, ecologically safe materials and energy saving equipment were employed to construct hippodromes. They are supplied with modern infrastructure to be able to upkeep elite horse breeds and to organize horse racing competitions, and engagement in other sports and recreation.
