OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2011. A branch of the International Grain futures market of the Black Sea region soon starts working in Ukraine. This was announced today by the Minister for Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk at a meeting organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine and the European Business Association in which, in particular, the President of the ACC Jorge Zukoski, representatives of the EBA, the World Bank in Ukraine, the EBRD and the U.S. Embassy took part.

"This exchange should not be similar to the State Agricultural Exchange. It will be valuable player and provide a complete package of conditions that will enable to develop mechanisms to attract funds of agricultural production", - Mykola Prysiazhniuk said.

This meeting is regular in promoting dialogue between Minister for Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine and representatives of companies of world level and is aimed at discussing and a joint resolution of current issues in agriculture sector.

During the meeting the Minister announced to present the plans of Ukraine to get grain yield of 80 million tons until 2017. "For us, the priorities are to increase harvest, providing the Ukrainian with high-quality products and access to world markets", - Mykola Prysiazhniuk told.

The Minister stressed that today we ought to work to fix imbalances in production. "Currently, the government can not afford to reduce attention to agricultural production in respect of crop rotation and conservation of soil fertility", - he said.
