Bakcell, the first mobile operator in Azerbaijan, informs that, in line with the recommendations by the Ministry of Communications and IT of Azerbaijan, decreased roaming prices within some networks of Russia, UK and Turkey. Bakcell Klass and Gold customers can now use more favorable tariffs while traveling in these countries and stay connected to their family, friends and businesses, reported the press-centre of Bakcell.

As of March, 2011, Bakcell has reduced rates for roaming calls by 30% - 40% and GPRS roaming costs 70% less in some networks of Russia, UK and Turkey. As smart phones become more widespread, data roaming services become more popular. To offer business customers a convenience of using internet for business purposes while traveling, Bakcell has significantly lowered data roaming costs.

Below is the table with the reduced roaming charges for Klass and Gold subscribers:
“With rapid growth of economy and business relations in Azerbaijan, more business customers travel abroad. We are frequently conducting market analysis to be aware of the destinations that our customers frequently travel. Initially, we offer reduced roaming rates in Russia, UK and Turkey and we will expand reduced tariffs to other destinations”, said Mr. Krasimir Genov, Chief Commercial Officer of Bakcell.

Currently, Bakcell customers can use roaming services in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Australia and Africa – Bakcell has Voice and SMS roaming agreements with operators in 155 countries. Bakcell data roaming services cover 90 networks in more than 60 destinations.
