OREANDA-NEWS. May 04, 2011. Moscow Domodedovo Airport has become one of the first Russian airports to receive permit to service takeoff and landing of the Russian short-haul passenger aircraft Sukhoi Superjet 100.

Corresponding Order was issued by the Federal Air Transport Agency. Moscow Domodedovo Airport is ready to accept and service aircrafts of this type and meets all ground servicing requirements.

First Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft was presented to the public on 26 September 2007 at factory in Komsomolsk-na-Amure. Its' first successful flight was demonstrated on 19 May 2008 in the same place. On 3 February 2011 Sukhoi Superjet 100 received Certificate of Type of the Air Register of the Moscow Air Committee.

Civil Jets of Sukhoi Company is owned by the Sukhoi Company (75% - 1 share) and, from 7 April 2009, by the strategic partner Italian Alenia Aeronautica Company (25% - 1 share). Civil Jets of Sukhoi Company was created in 2000 to create new types of the civil aviation technology. Headquarters of the Company are located in Moscow. CJS Company also has branches at the main production sites in Komsomolsk-na-Amure, Novosibirsk and Voronezh. Today the Company employs more than 2000 people. Currently the program of creation of the Russian regional aircrafts family Sukhoi Superjet 100 is the main project of the Company.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest airport of Russia, accounting for 44% of the total volume of passenger traffic of the Moscow Aviation Hub. In 2010 22.3 mln. passengers used the services of the airport. More than 70 air carriers are the partners of the airport, including Russian and foreign airlines. Such famous aviation alliances as Star Alliance, oneworld and SkyTeam have selected Moscow Domodedovo Airport for their flights to Moscow.
