OREANDA-NEWS. May 04, 2011. In April 2011 National Container Company (NCC, Russia) started to use the recently approved “dry port” technology between First Container Terminal (FCT) and Logistika-Terminal (LT). The new procedure gives possibility to transport containers from FCT to the off-dock facility in Shushary in bond under the simplified scheme of customs control.

Andrey Bogdanov, FCT commercial director, said: “This is a strategically important step for the company: today we open a new page in the history of Russia’s container business”.

The first containers transported under the new scheme were OOCL containers with food stuffs delivered to FCT by OOCL NARVA ship. “Dry port” technology enables to move containers from FCT to off-dock facility in bond for further customs clearance, storage and distribution.

"The start-up of this technology increases FCT’s yard capacity and gives our customers the possibility of taking full advantage of high-quality logistic services at the off-dock terminal,”- added А.Bogdanov.
