OREANDA-NEWS. May 05, 2011. Ukrainian international truckers have received from Italy 800 additional permits to carry out road transport in 2011. Appropriate agreement was reached during the meeting of the Joint Ukrainian-Italian commission for international transport of goods and passengers, held 28-29 April 2011 in Rome.

Italian permits for transportation for Ukrainian cargo carriers are one of the most unprofitable. In 2011 the parties exchanged (basic quota) 15 thousand permits. However, as experience shows such a number of permits are not enough to meet by Ukrainian carriers of cargo according to the signed annual contracts. Thus, during the Joint Commission the Ukrainian delegation headed by the Chairman of the State Administration of Road Transport Sergiy Dobrokhod was agreed to increase this year's quota on 800 permits: 500 permits for trucks that meet environmental requirements of Euro III and 300 permits for cars ecological compatibility Euro V (will be transferred to Ukraine by end of June 2011).

These 500 permits will be distributed in accordance with the methodology among Ukrainian carriers at the next meeting of the Commission on the distribution of permits in Italy and Hungary, on 6 May 2011.

Recall, the meetings of the Joint Ukrainian-Italian commission stipulated in Article 28 of the Agreement on international cargo and passenger transportation, signed between Italy and Ukraine in Kyiv on 3 February 1998.
