OREANDA-NEWS. May 05, 2011.  A meeting with the delegation led by Kestutis Kudzmanas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Turkmenistan, who had arrived to the Turkmen capital, took place at the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan.

A lively exchange of views on the prospects and possibilities to step up Turkmen-Lithuanian partnerships took place during the meeting. The guests were briefed on key aspects of the social and economic development programmes launched on the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov throughout the country, an essential component of which was enhancement of cooperation with foreign partners.

Focusing on the existing tremendous potential to boost bilateral cooperation, Ambassador Kestutis Kudzmanas said that the Republic of Lithuania was keenly interested in strengthening mutually beneficial relations with Turkmenistan that had earned the reputation worldwide as a dependable partner. The diplomat emphasized that the high potential of the Turkmen market, where the conditions conducive to conducting business activity, including the favourable investment climate, had been created, aroused intense interest among Lithuanian businessmen, who stood ready to actively collaborate on the implementation of large-scale projects. The trade and economic, power, transport and other sectors were mentioned as the promising spheres of cooperation.

The delegation led by Kestutis Kudzmanas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Turkmenistan was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on the approaches to strengthening intergovernmental relations.
