OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2011. NEC Corporation (NEC) announced today that it will attend the Telecom LTE World Summit 2011 on May 17 - 18 in Amsterdam. NEC will be showcasing its innovative and market leading technology, including its all-in-one small cell LTE solution and Self Organising Network (SON) solution for heterogeneous networks. The demonstrations will be on NEC‘s stand, number 41

"NEC was the first to market with its innovative LTE small cell solution and continues to be ahead of the curve on this technology, which is set to revolutionise the economics of operators‘ networks. Over the last few years, we have had a very positive response from operators on our small cell proposition. It is clear that small cell deployment is key to the future success of mobile broadband, particularly for LTE at the 2.6Ghz spectrum," says Dr. Shahram Niri, Director, NEC Europe Ltd. and responsible for NEC‘s global LTE/SAE Strategy and Solution.

NEC is preparing to conduct tests with major Global operators in the frequency spectrum 2.6Ghz and the joint analysis proved that small cells deliver significantly higher capacity and user data rates in comparison with a typical macro based LTE deployment in a dense urban environment. Given that over 200 times more traffic will be carried by mobile networks ten years from now, operators are now open to the idea that small cells are the viable and an essential solution for mobile broadband network roll-out in the future

During the show, NEC will show operators how easy, fast and cost-effective, deployments can be made using NEC‘s small cell LTE solution, managed by its SON. NEC‘s all-in-one compact LTE one touch base station will be displayed on the stand and visitors can see how this small, discreet box can be fitted to walls or street lamps within one hour, alleviating the need for heavy lifting machinery or planning permission.

During the conference, executives from NEC will present papers and join panel discussions
outlining the opportunities for mobile operators looking to transform their networks towards future IT and mobile broadband service such as new business created by cloud-based applications.

On Day 1 track D, at 16:20, Dr. Shahram G Niri will make presentation on topic "Towards the Future Mobile Broadband with LTE Small Cells". He will also be joining the panel discussion at 18:00 on the topic of "Interference Management in Heterogeneous Networks - Are Operators Concerns Resolved?"
