OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2011. Ryanair, the world’s favourite airline, today (11th May) called on easyjet to admit that while it continues to copy Ryanair baggage policies it cannot beat Ryanair’s low fares or high punctuality.

Ryanair made the call after easyjet quietly updated its website this month with a new gate bag fee and with its awful punctuality stats (for Oct –Dec 2011) which it had failed to publish (despite claiming punctuality is its ‘top priority’) since April 2009, when Ryanair’s punctuality outperformed easyjet’s on time performance every week from 2003.

Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said,
“They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and as easyjet copies yet another Ryanair policy with the introduction of a Ј40 gate bag fee we also thank them for again publishing their awful punctuality statistics which confirm that they can’t copy Ryanair’s punctuality.
The gulf between Ryanair’s and easyjet’s fares and on-time performance has clearly embarrassed easyjet. However, after being confirmed as having worse punctuality than Air Zimbabwe, easyjet has now conceded to republishing their stats quarterly.
Ryanair now calls on easyjet to admit that they are a poor copycat of Ryanair but they can’t copy Ryanair’s low fares or our leading punctuality either.”
