OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2011. In partnership with the Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation - Jogmec, we will begin a technical feasibility study for the development of a flexible pipeline project for pre-salt oil production in ultra-deep waters.

To this end, we signed a specific agreement with JOGMEC on April 25, 2011. The study will be carried out by a Japanese consortium comprising, among other companies, Furukawa Electric, and is scheduled to be completed by December 2014.

Once the project has been technically validated, the prospect of establishing a plant in Brazil will be assessed.

Petrobras and Jogmec

Our relationship with Jogmec began on December 16, 2005, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding for collaborative activities of mutual interest, particularly related to oil and gas exploration and production; health, environment and safety; in addition to research and development projects in the oil and gas industry.

In the following year, we conducted studies with promising results on Mono-column (cylindrical) FPSO (Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading) systems. The technical feasibility study for the flexible pipeline project will be our second collaborative activity with Jogmec.
