OREANDA-NEWS. May 16, 2011.  "Uralmashplant" has shipped two KMD-2200T5-D crushers to OJSC Apatit (Murmanskaya oblast).

A KMD-2200T5-D crusher (cone fine crusher with crusher head diameter of 2200 mm) is one of the latest Uralmashplant developments reducing the final size of crushed product and increasing crushing output.

- Crushers supplied to OJSC Apatit allow producing material that is less than 18 mm in size, whereas standard fine crushing equipment gives 22...25 mm - commented the chief crushing and grinding equipment design engineer Arkadiy Osadchiy from the Mining equipment division. Such reduction of product size makes it possible to cut back the consumption of power, lining and balls used in the grinding process, which affects the end product price.

Delivery of crushers to OJSC Apatit marks the last stage of the crushing equipment upgrade program. Earlier in 2001-2006, this company received four similar KMD-2200T5-D fine crushers and three KSD-2200T2-D intermediate crushers with 50% boosted capacity. Crushing equipment upgrade enabled introduction of new crushing technologies and significant increase of ore-preparation efficiency.

OJSC Apatit ranks among the largest global producers of phosphate raw materials. It produces and processes apatite-nepheline ores of Khibiny deposits, one of largest and rich deposits in the world. The company's main product is apatite concentrate. Besides, OJSC Apatite's products include nepheline, syenitic aluminum-alkali, aegrine, grothite and titan-magnetite concentrates.
