OREANDA-NEWS. May 17, 2011. The new investment agreement with Danone-Unimilk envisages the production of 20 dairy products in Belarus, Agriculture Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusy told reporters on Thursday.

“We will be making the Danone yoghurt group that we import now,” he said.

He said the new products would be meant for the home market; the rest will be exported. Investments in the new production, based in Shklov, will amount to 24 million euros. The project will be completed in 2012, according to the minister.

Rusy said Belarus would negotiate export of new products in June.

“We would like to have as few operators on export markets as possible, he added.

Danone-Unimilk controls 51% in CLLC  Unimilk-Shklov, and CLLC  Unimilk-Pruzhany.

In 2010, the company acquired Fruit Juice Factory VDH, which used to be controlled by German LEAH Holding. The transaction was completed in September and closed in October.
