OREANDA-NEWS. May 17, 2011. IES-Holding will buy from Ural Turbine Works (UTW) 11 steam turbines for new power units under its investment program. The total contractual value of the turbines to be delivered in 2012 and 2013 exceeds RUB 5 billion.

State-of-the-art UTW steam turbines with a capacity ranging from 36 MW to 125 MW are intended for Kirov CHPP-3, Kirov CHPP-4, Izhevsk CHPP-1, Vladimir CHPP-2, Nizhneturinskaya SDPP, Novobereznikovskaya CHPP, Novobogoslovskaya CHPP and Akademicheskaya CHPP in Yekaterinburg. Most of them will make part of new steam-and-gas units and operate in conjunction with steam turbines produced by international and domestic manufacturers. IES-Holding will be the first customer to receive from UTW its latest model T-75/85-9,3 – a turbine developed specifically for steam-and-gas units.

“An order of a large lot of turbines enables us to demonstrate a high level of technologies and production facilities upgraded recently”, says OJSC UTW General Director Igor Sorochan. “This order also makes it possible to ensure an integrated approach both to production and subsequent services”.

“UTW turbines are installed at the majority of IES-Holding’s operating plants. They have proved to be highly reliable and maintainable during the long years of their operation. Being as good as international analogs from the engineering point of view, domestically produced turbines have a competitive edge in terms of costs and service maintenance affordability”, notes CJSC Integrated Energy Systems First Vice President – Operational Director Andrey Vagner.
