The sales volume in the market of services of fixed-line telephony of Moldova in the I quarter of 2011 in comparison with the same period of 2010 reduced by 13,5 % - to 403, 5 million leis. As it was informed agency in National agency on regulation in the field of electronic communications and information technology, recession has occurred after the stagnation period in 2010.

As they mark in the agency, sales volume in the market of fixed-line telephony of Moldova started to fall in 2008 when sales decreased by 5,8 %, in comparison with 2007 Recession in 2009, in comparison with 2008, made 12,7 %.

In 2010 sales volume remained at the level of 2009 thanks to increase by 11 % of tariffs at the termination of the international traffic. The NARECIT explains recession of this market by strengthening of a tendency of replacement of services of fixed-line telephony by services of mobile telephony and communications through the Internet that causes traffic reduction in networks of fixed telephony.

According to the agency, in January-March of this year sales volume of Moldtelecom services of fixed-line telephony decreased by 13,9 % and made 397,5 million leis, and sales of alternative suppliers increased by 36,8 % - to 6 million leis. The monthly average income on one subscriber (ARPU) reduced by 15 % and made 115,66 leis. According to NARECIT in spite of the fact that sales volume in fixed-line telephony market reduced, the number of subscribers of these services has a little grown - by 1,7 % - to 1 million 164,6 thousand.

Moldtelecom has connected to the network of 382 new subscribers, and alternative suppliers - 3099. For March, 31st, 2011 Moldtelecom had 1 million 124,1 thousand subscribers, and 22 suppliers worked for alternative suppliers - over 40,5 thousand. Moldtelecom share in sales volume - 98,52 %.
