OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2011. Renaissance Capital, the leading emerging markets investment bank, has hired Leonard Ellis as New York Head of Equity Derivatives and Structuring.

Mr. Ellis’s arrival at Renaissance Capital underpins the Firm’s entry into the US equity derivatives business, expanding its global equity platform to cover a key market segment. Through Renaissance’s New York office, US investors will have access to the Firm’s Russian, African and emerging markets futures, volatility and access products.

Mr. Ellis, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the global derivatives and cash equities markets, joins Renaissance Capital from US broker-dealer, Capstone, where he specialised in idea- and event-driven volatility strategies. Prior to that, for nine years, Mr. Ellis managed equity derivatives for the Americas for Citigroup, including equity swaps, market access, delta one and exchange market-making. In the early 1990s, he pioneered the development of the corporate and investment banking and finance structured derivatives business at Bankers Trust.
