OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2011. KDDI will launch a new music distribution service "LISMO unlimited powered by RecoChoku" (LISMO unlimited) in Japan, the world's second largest music market, for au Smartphones in mid-June 2011.

When the service is launched, LISMO unlimited will allow users to listen to a line-up of approximately one million, mostly western, music tracks any time they like, for a flat-rate charge of Ґ1,480 per month (including tax), through collaboration with RecoChoku Co., Ltd. (RecoChoku, Director and CEO Yoichi Kato), Japan's biggest digital music content provider established by joint venture of music labels, utilizing a cloud music platform provided by music service provider, KKBOX Inc. (KKBOX, CEO Chris Lin, Taiwan), with which KDDI has had a business tie-up since December 2010.

LISMO unlimited will allow users to enjoy a vast array of cloud-based music tracks anytime anywhere, through networks such as 3G and Wi-Fi, using dedicated Android™ applications and its own distribution platform.

To coincide with the launch of the LISMO unlimited service and to encourage users to try out the new service, KDDI will hold a trial campaign during which the information fee will be waived for up to two weeks.
