OREANDA-NEWS. May 20, 2011. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has started hearing the heads of regional state administrations on the state and prospects of vegetable production, including potatoes and creating a market infrastructure for the provision of vegetables and fruits. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

According to him, unfortunately, most regional leaders did not realize how serious is the work of setting up the production in Ukraine of fruits and vegetables, construction of wholesale markets of agricultural products, greenhouse complexes, vegetable and fruit storages and so on. "There is no initiative on their part. Even worse - they see themselves aloof from these problems and clearly defined by the Government targets to address problems", - the Prime Minister said.

Therefore, as noted Mykola Azarov, there is the need to hear regional leaders on the issue. On the proposal of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, he added, the first will report heads of Zaporizhya, Kirovograd and Kherson regions: “In these regions, according to the Agrarian Policy and Food is the worst situation. Just image these are in regions that are given by God to produce enough vegetables and fruits for the Ukraine. And not only for Ukraine. Recall that, for example, Melitopol cherries and Kherson tomatoes were known in France and the UK”.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed that the review of reports will be objective, but picky. As a result, the Government will make a decision, including staffing.
