OREANDA-NEWS. May 20, 2011. Kirill Dmitriev was appointed as Director General of the Russian Direct Investments Fund’s Managing Company.

The government press service reported that in his new capacity K.Dmitriev participated in Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s meeting with representatives of foreign leading investment funds.

According to the Press Service, an issue of Russia’s Direct Investments Fund’s activity was on the meeting’s agenda.

“Many foreign investors display great interest in the Fund”, K.Dmitriev said.

K.Dmitriev was born in Kiev on April 12, 1975

He holds a BA in Economics with Honors and Distinction from Stanford University (1996) and an MBA with High Distinction (Baker Scholar) from Harvard University (2000).

In 1996-1998 – Consultant of McKinsey & Company in Los Angeles, Moscow and Prague

In 1999 – Investment Banker at Goldman Sachs in New York;

In 2000-2002 – Deputy Director General at IBS company;

In 2002-2007 – Co-Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Delta Private Equity;

In 2005-2006 - Chairman of the Russian Venture and Private Equity Association

From 2007 – President and Founder of Direct Investment Fund Icon Private Equity.

Under K.Dmitriev’s direct management a number of investments were made in the companies that became leaders in their sectors in Russia: DeltaBank DeltaCredit Bank, TV channels CTC and TV-3, cable TV Operator National Cable Networks and Compulink Company. This made it possible to raise investments for the Russian economy from the world’s leading companies including GE Capital, Societe Generale, Fidelity Investments.
