OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2011. Ukio bankas is the first in Lithuania to introduce the application iPhone and Android for smart phones enabling the user to conveniently and rapidly find Ukio bankas nearest ATM or subdivision all over Lithuania, to find out its working hours and select the most convenient route to it. This fee-free application will be continuously developed and supplemented with new functions, reported the press-centre of Ukio Bankas.

“The number of smart phone holders is rapidly growing and we believe, therefore, that this first application of its kind in Lithuania will become a beneficial daily tool for our present and future clients as well as foreign guests visiting Lithuania’s cities. From now on they will not have to search information about Ukio bankas subdivisions and ATMs through other channels – it will be displayed on the smart phone screenshot,” Jolita Kiausiene, director of Ukio bankas Electronic Banking Department, said.

This application is convenient and simple to use and can be downloaded free-of-charge. The smart phone screenshot displays the map of the selected city showing Ukio bankas subdivisions and joint network’s ATMs. Upon selecting the desired subdivision, its working hours are displayed. Apart from that, the application selects the most rapid route to the ATM or subdivision according to the location of the phone. This application was developed in cooperation with specialists from UAB Metasite Business Solutions.

Holders of smart phone can download Ukio bankas applications free-of-charge from Apple Store, Android Market or using following address: for iPhone version and for Android version.

“This application will be continuously updated and supplemented with other relevant information: all smart phone owners will be able to view currency exchange rates, interest rates on deposits and consumer loans, and products and services offered. These functions will be easy to manage and the application user will be able to automatically download modifications and updates,” J. Kiausiene said.

Ukio bankas will also offer additional functions which are relevant to the Bank’s clients using smart phones: they will be able to view account balances, execute payment orders, pay service bills and perform other banking transactions on the phone.

Ukio bankas steadily takes a leading position in presenting state-of-the-art e-banking services and solutions. The Bank was among the first in Lithuania to provide its clients with the possibility of connecting to the electronic banking system and signing documents by the mobile electronic signature and the electronic signature of the Centre of Registers in USB key. Upon having introduced the connection and signing by electronic signature in the personal identity card of the Republic of Lithuania last year, it became the only bank in the country offering three methods for safe, rapid and modern connection to the electronic banking and signing of documents.
