Usiminas will attend the Brazilian Steel Congress and ExpoAco 2011, events promoted by the Brazilian Steel Institute in the Transamerica Expo Center, Sao Paulo, on June 1 – 3. In addition to a speech to be delivered by its CEO Wilson Brumer in the second day of the Congress, Usiminas will have a stand at ExpoAco and participate in the Steel Village, an actual demonstration of how steel can be used in our day-to-day life.

The Brazilian Steel Congress is the main event in the country’s steel chain. It gathered together in excess of 700 executives to debate the Brazilian steel industry challenges and outlook in its last edition. For this year, the Congress invited renowned Brazilian and international speakers, like Jose Santos, professor of Global Management Practices at INSEAD, one of the world’s most reputable business schools; Robert Shiller, economist and professor at Yale University; and Delfim Netto, economist and former Brazilian Finance minister, among others. The core themes include the implications of the world economic scenario changes and the steel consumption outlook in the Brazilian domestic market..

Usiminas CEO Wilson Brumer will deliver a speech on the factors that affect the Brazilian steel competitiveness. The presentation is an integral part of the panel “The Post-Crisis Brazilian Steel Industry – Threats and Opportunities” on June 2, 14:30.
