OREANDA-NEWS. June 1, 2011. Belarus’ average wage in nominal terms reached 1,563,400 Belarusian rubles (Br) in April 2011, up 1.7% month-on-month, an official with the National Statistics Committee stated.

In real terms [adjusted for the increase in the consumer prices], the average monthly wage went down 2.7% on the month. In January-April 2011, the average wage increased 23.4% on the year in real terms.

The average wage in Minsk reached 2.03 million rubles in April, in the Minsk Region 1.54 million rubles, in the Gomel Region 1.463 million rubles, in the Mogilev Region 1.417 million rubles, in the Brest Region 1.397 million rubles, in the Grodno Region 1.431 million rubles, and in the Vitebsk Region 1.406 million rubles.

In manufacturing, monthly wages averaged 1.681 million rubles, in construction 1.901 million rubles, in transport and telecoms 1.707 million rubles, in agriculture 1.115 million rubles, in retail and maintenance companies 1.355 million rubles, in healthcare 1.286 million rubles, in education 1.242 million rubles, in hotels and restaurants 1.024 million rubles, in real estate and property lease companies 1.929 million rubles.

In the mining industry, wages averaged 2.186 million rubles, in the processing industry, 1.673 million rubles, and in electricity, gas and water distribution companies 1.672 million rubles.
