OREANDA-NEWS. June 1, 2011. Russian investments in Belarus rose 7.9% on the year in 2010 to USD 6.555 billion. Direct investments amounted to USD 5.055 billion, up 25.5%, and other investments were at USD 1.5 billion, down 26.8%, according to materials of the Russian Economic Development Ministry.

Contributions to charter capital amounted to USD 74.6 million, loans from direct investors, USD 83.5 million, and debt of direct investees to direct investors, USD 4.894 billion.

Most of the “other investments” were made up by loans and credit, of them USD 1.301 billion of short-term loans and USD 198.6 million of long-term loans.

Belarusian investments in Russia rose 120% on the year to USD 1.616 billion, including USD 1.248 billion of direct investments and USD 368.9 million of other investments.
