OREANDA-NEWS. June 1, 2011. The 7th annual forum “Transport infrastructure of Russia” is being held these days in Moscow. Well-known businessmen, politicians, government body representatives, authoritative experts take part in it. At this forum the general director of JSC “Airport Tolmachevo” Alexander Borodin is delivering the report about the realization of West Siberian transit potential in the system of international transport corridors.

Analyzing the prospects of transit carriages in West Siberia, the director of Novosibirsk aviation enterprise paid special attention to the problem of “roundabout transit”. Due to existing royalty and restrictions by way of agreements’ conditions about air transportation, a range of technical stops occurs outside Russia. For instance, more then 250 non-stop flights are operated daily in the air space of West Siberia. At the same time more then 160 cargo aircraft have daily technical stops in Kazakhstan and Central Asia republics passing beyond Russia. In terms of money it is estimated to 500 thousand dollars a week in the form of revenues from ground handling and airport services and 6.5 million dollars from fuel supplying. That means we speak about serious economic potential not being still used on the territory of Russia.

This problem concerns the airport Tolmachevo, which represents itself a modern high-tech aviation transport joint possessing two runways, all necessary ground infrastructure and conditions to provide passenger and cargo carriages.

As it was noticed by Alexander Borodin, a range of measures had been taken to attract new cargo and passenger air carriers and strengthen technical base for additional flights’ handling. In particular, the line technical ground handling station for aircraft type Boeing –747 and MD-11 is going to be put into operation. Since the 30th of April the airport Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) has had a permission as an alternate to accept aircraft type A-380 and its modifications. The question of receiving the permission to accept and handle new type aircraft (Boeing-747-8) is being solved presently. The project of apron extension and new parking lots building for cargo aircraft type Boeing-747 is being discussed nowadays.

Having told the forum’s participants about the developing programs of Novosibirsk enterprise, Alexander Borodin underlined the fact that the airport Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo), as one of the essential unites in Russian Federation transport net, would be able to realize efficiently the transit potential of West Siberia and compete successfully with the airports of foreign nations.

The general director of JSC “NOVAPORT’ and LLC “AEON Corporation Russia”, the representative of Economic, budget and investments council of JSC “Airport Tolmachevo” Board of directors Michael Smirnov delivered the report at the forum on subject “The airports’ development projects of the net NOVAPORT”.
